Jan Ammann - Musical (CD)

I had this CD for quite some time on the shelf and I frankly been a bit down in front of a review. I've seen, however, that more time was needed in the blog and then it is probably about time my personal impressions of the CD to put into words.

Jan Ammann is the latest since his role as "Count of Krolock" in the play "Dance of the Vampires" and by his participation in the "Musical Tenors" and the Levay / Kunze Gala "I belong only to me," the musical superstars of recent years and so was his solo CD is already eagerly awaited.

I'm still (always) is not really conclusive as to what to make of this distribution.

As great it is to finally have a CD recording of him as a vampire count or a reminder of the "I belong only to me - Gala" on record to have ... Somehow, the CD by this juxtaposition of something unimaginative.

this I will not make the vocal quality in question. But you have half a shot of "Dance of the Vampires," a half recording of "I belong only to me gala" and an encore, then another cast recordings of other CDs.
I personally would have found it better when you have both brought out CDs as complete and Jan's solo CD out on perhaps a little more value on his own pieces, would have the yes there are quite (keyword: Torn Picture) So right euphoria will not adjust to me why.. That may go but many might be different, who have not seen the gala.

Among the songs:

friend Jan proves once again what a fantastic singer he is and that, according to Steve Barton, hardly is a better Krolock. In the other roles (eg as in Elizabeth's death or deWinter Maxim in Rebecca), he likes it a lot. Ludwig ² is just not my musical, sung still fantastic. No question!

duet partner :

My highlight of the CD is very clear: Sabrina Weckerlin !! Since the Wiener Original Cast Recording I'm not so strong "Sarah" There's more! Why, one wonders, is this role always been held by relatively weak little voice, where there are so-voiced actresses such as Sabrina?

The other duet partner make a good impression. Guest soloist Sascha Kurth was already on the gala and it has convinced me there already - why he though his own solo on the solo CD gets another, I do not really come into his head. His "For Sarah" is not the worst - with me at the last vampire Dennis Jankowiak visit - has convinced a little more (> Link here ).

Kristin Hoelck is not my case. Have seen them numerous times live and I can only repeat: Every time a solid, good performance, but I shall not easy. What are the reasons always likes. The duet with Darius Merstein other hand, is absolutely my case - from "The Way" every time I get a catchy tune, even if not re-recorded the song, but 1-1 from the Pompeii Cast-CD was taken.

Who likes to This CD is definitely a must! It was undecided whether the CD would have collected would be clever können.Da sure have been possible, but it's nice to finally have more Jan on the shelf. He is a great singer and performer.

Under the "Backstage" concerts in the summer and the first Stanke without electricity in November (-> Link: here ) this was another Stanke concert. The acronym SOS is clearly not for Shipwreck - On the contrary, much of Kahn is taking off!

It is fascinating and amazing and great to be there, as things develop further and further ... How to say "I"? Let's call it the "love story" Stanke / Vega.

Oh dear ... If I am totally caught up, stupid grin and 7th want to see heaven, it looks even know if you spot me on a musical Tenors concert ...
It was another dream!

The Philharmonic in Filderstadt Although far from the atmosphere of the Ebert bath. If only because it conveys, as a multi-purpose building something cool one basic idea. Even with the stage set, the organizers have done a disservice, because everything was left extremely heavy. I was also at the 3rd sometimes even good about things like the beginning of "Maria" entertaining. Just the facial expressions of the boys in many songs ... indescribable!
Most of the songs have touched me very well again. On one or two ballads I could have done without, perhaps, but can very many songs I sat spellbound in my chair and was blown away. In the mood songs I'd prefer chapped and my feet had to bob:)))
I'm really glad that we took the long journey to us and were able to experience that again!!

The mood in Filderstadt was great! But, there was hardly standing ovation ... that has irritated me a little, because more than a tenor himself would have deserved after his solo! We are always bravely stood up when we felt a standing ovation would be due. Man it does not have to exaggerate, but when Christian sings the Phantom, really should get up more than 10 people! It is in this role, the hammer! Stuttgart self-Liebling Jan has given his "insatiable greed" are only part of the audience to stand up - It literally gives the next one!! I thought that was a pity. But as I said - otherwise the audience is again gone along really well. Did clap along, flipped and cheered! Great! So desires it to an audience:)

I had the feeling that he was particularly good that night on it. The others also - watch it again just made sooo much fun they are having fun ... Hopefully that will never routine! The guys are just such a blast!

This evening I liked especially Patrick (surprise, surprise) and Jan and Chris has put ne scoop on it - from time to time he convinced me more! Very nice voice and very expressive when he sings (music of the night - I never liked it and am quite crazy about it!). Even his shy nature is really nice. Mark - well .... It fits great in the group and makes a great show. His solo ballads have me back but not convinced. Too much gesturing - too much * sorry * tearjerker.
But as mentioned often enough: only together they are the Musical Tenors! And in this Composition, they should continue to do the same. Everything fits perfectly:)
Whatever is planned for the future ... It should be said here and now: change is not necessary! Show perfect - perfect guys!

The distribute autographs after the show was a joke!
We had a gift for Patrick there and spoke briefly with him. But his and Mark's questions about the gift we could not answer, unfortunately, because we are not very friendly Filharmonieangestellten of stalls and weitergejagd were equal. So if you're ever in Stuttgart ... :) Nah, it was somehow clear that the first way would lead to the box office in the Si-center, even if we are actually down because of the tenor to Stuttgart because of the snow a day earlier than originally planned. A nice side effect: We had a free evening in Stuttgart and of course had to use the.

addition, the "Jan-Card" (so that there is an annual fee of discounts) for U 26 people, like me, just a dream - When can schonmal for 39 € on a Saturday evening PK 1 ? sit! Sometimes it's the little things in life, enjoy the one! I dare yes hard to tell, but that's it: I have Dance of the Vampires for almost 10 years, not seen in the theater. Madness! Since it was really about time, right? At that time, 2001, I had already Krolock as Kevin Tarte - at least I am, some sort of safe. But it's really long ago!

Theatre

The Palladium in Stuttgart is really a great theater - the rise in places reasonably to - so you have plenty of legroom, but also on the 8th in this case Series, can see very well. My seat was in the middle and I had a pretty perfect view of the stage.

Compared to other theaters - as the metronome - the Palladium cuts really did well. The only problem: Much too far away from NRW)

The piece

Although the piece as long as I had not seen it but I totally trusted for years and it was as if no time passed.

The piece is really great, but as I tell most people here probably nothing new. Great music, phenomenal scenery, well done, sometimes funny, sometimes poignant story - Everything you need a way to spend a beautiful evening of theater. While there are certainly more vampire fans than me, but nothing is nonetheless and remains a brilliant musical that's always fun!

The music

What can you say there - The CD runs smoothly for years in my player.

At the show I've seen, however, the orchestra sometimes a bit too loud - it made me not quite doll disturbed, but a little less loud would have allowed it to be. Then some vocals would come across as perhaps more than was the case.

The actors

anticipation: the occupation of some roles is, in my opinion the biggest weakness of the production. At least I had that evening just wow effects. The actors were mostly really good, but hardly anyone has me really, really carried away. What a beautiful musical but not necessarily doing an abortion. Only I think that from a few rolls to get out more easily could! But now, in detail:

Count Krolock - Kevin Tarte

He is a very experienced Krolock and plays the role for years. One notices, for he is doing really great! Hats off also that he has played with a grade survived bronchitis about this day a double show. He said that he was in the midday show still quite weak, which has one evening, but almost did not notice his long and sounds were awesome! I'm obviously not a direct comparison to Jan, I will not until March to see in the role, but I must say that I am Kevin's "insatiable greed" has affected not so long as the by Jan at the operative part. Nevertheless, I liked Kevin's right!

Sarah - Sabrina Auer

I'm confused ... Honestly! Although she makes a good impression, portrayal and precipitated even in deeper layers of her voice to me and especially their tone really well, but as soon as songs require a little more height and power, it begins to either cry or hardly comes across something. So I was rather disappointed by it overall. This is really a shame because the role would not give her so much more. For a main occupation I'm Sabrina perceived as rather weak. "Stronger than we are," I first saw and heard live once and I love this song. 2001, which did not exist and I'm especially looking forward to it. Great dance scenes, but Sabrina is not the end just went "in full". This would have as much, indeed, may be stronger. Too bad!

Alfred - Dennis Jankowiak

At first I was not so sure. Vocally, he was flawless and the role of facial expressions was disabled. But in the course of the play, he really convinced me!! I wrote above that I sometimes feel the occupation as the major deficiency. This is not to be understood that I felt any role as totally miscast, or any of the actors would not like. Overall, all were good! I still think that you could get out of many more roles (I know I am repeating myself, but it's also an important point). A play lives or falls on the actors, even if a backdrop and costumes umpusten really. The strongest person on stage is the Krolock - and that's fine too so, but it is a bit bad when a Sarah then goes down so completely and extras mutate other leading roles.

But a word on the ensemble: degrees in the crowd scenes, I was thrilled. The costumes, vampire make-up and dance scenes were great!

My favorite songs on the night were: Despite poor Sarah "Stronger than we are," "Carpe Noctem" "For Sarah" and the finale. The Krolocklieder I also liked very much, but I do not know now what special. Usually it is "The insatiable greed," but it was not this time!
